They Bruise Episode One: Joanna Lohman
I just came across what looks to be a promising new video podcast series: They Bruise. According to the They Bruise YouTube page the series is described as:
"A web docu-series that looks at extraordinary female athletes who may not be getting the recognition they deserve. In the United States, women’s sports remain an underfunded arena and are still very much a “boys club”. While mid-level male athletes earn enough to be set for life after a short-lived career, some members of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team, the current FIFA World Cup Champions, may have to juggle other jobs with their pro career. If it’s not the money, what motivates these remarkable women to bruise for the game they love? This is the question that They Bruise sets out to explore."
The first episode is features National Women's Soccer League player Joanna Lohman. Lohman plays for the Washington Spirit in NWSL.
